Manganese steel plate (often Hadfield or X120Mn12) is a tough, non-magnetic austenitic alloy (11-14% Mn) known for its exceptional impact resistance and unique work-hardening property, meaning it gets harder and stronger with repeated impact or abrasion, making it ideal for harsh, high-wear applications like crusher liners, railway parts, and mining equipment. It offers superior ductility in its core and toughness, resisting cracking under shock, with hardness increasing from ~220 BHN to ~550 BHN.
